Sensei Mitchell Pennell

A survivor of childhood bullying and physical assault in his late teens, Mitchell turned to martial arts to help himself heal and become empowered.

After achieving his Black Belt in Xin-Tao Karate in 2013; Sensei wanted to take what he’d learn and focus it on empowerment and self defense.

Since our founding in 2014; Sensei has achieved an additional 1st degree black belt in Olympic Tae Kwon Do; and also trained in Wing Chun, Krav Maga, Shotokan Karate, and Escrima.

as of 2019 Sensei has started to work towards his 2nd degree black belt in Olympic Tae Kwon Do.

In 2020 Sensei Pennell underwent training in Personal Fitness Training through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (N.A.S.M.); as well as additional specialization training in Mixed Martial Arts Conditioning. He uses that training in addition to the core curriculum of Mpma to address all aspects of physical fitness from nutrition and resistance training through mma training for personal empowerment and self defense.

Jack exemplifies the drive to be his best self through martial arts and personal training.

As of the writing of this at the end of 2020, Jack is working towards his level 2 certification.

His job responsibilities include calling and scheduling trial students, reaching out to local organizations for self defense seminars, and helping Sensei Mitchell with warm ups, technique demonstration, etc. And any other task he’s qualified to do so at the dojo under the guidance and direction of Sensei Mitchell.

1. LITTLE DRAGON ASSISTANT INSTRUCTOR : This position works along side Sensei Mitchell in instructing the little dragon curriculum for age appropriate students. (* Level 1 yellow belt certification required as well as attending and passing the little dragon assistant instructor seminar)



2. Be able to pass a background check at employees cost.

3. No face tattoos or inappropriate Tattoos of any kind that are visible while in the dojo or on the training floor.

4.MOST IMPORTANT be good with children and familiar with modalities that allow students as young as 5 to be successful in the program.

Payment is in free martial arts training, free assistant instructor training seminar, and a percentage of donations from the specific students you teach. (60% to you; 20% to marketing assistant for their assistance growing the program; and 20% to Sensei Mitchell as owner/creator of the programs taught at MPMA Self Defense.)
